Every summer the idyllic harbour in Sirevåg is a popular destination for sailors and boaters. Sirevåg has a very large jetty/breakwater protecting its harbour (Europe's second largest man-made jetty) which makes it a safe and good place to dock. Its closest neighbours to the north is Jærstrendene, with beautiful beaches and wild horizons.
During World War II, the German occupiers built a fortress on the Vedafjellet, just south of Sirevåg, as part of "Festung Norwegen." Viewpoints and caves in the mountains are still intact are visited by a large number of tourists each year.
