The Sail Training ship Zenobe Gramme is a Class C Bermuda Ketch which was launched in 1961. She is named after the scientist Zenobe Gramme, the inventor of the dynamo (1869) The ship has a white wooden hull, measures 29 metres (92ft) in length, and is owned and operated by the Belgian Navy, with her homeport being Brussels. The ship carries 1 officer, 6 crew members and 10 trainees. Zenobe Gramme began competing in the Tall Ships Races in 1972 and has regularly participated since. Since 1961, the ship has sailed over 300,000 Nautical miles (557,000 km) around the world, taking trainees on new adventures.
